About Parks and Wonders

Parks and Wonders is a guide to national parks, nature reserves and natural sites worth the trip: caves, gorges, waterfalls, lakes, volcanoes, glaciers, islands and coasts, along with the multi-day hikes that cross them.

What you will find here

Each page focuses on one place and the questions you have before going: what there is to see, when to come, how to get there, what is allowed and what it costs. Rules and prices come from the site manager and carry the date we last checked them.

Places are grouped by type, by country and by month, and shown on a map, so you can choose where to go as well as prepare a visit.

Four languages

The guide is written in English and published in French, Spanish and German for the places people search for in those languages.

Who is behind it

Parks and Wonders is run by a small independent editorial team. The company that publishes it is named in the legal notice. Pages carry no author signature: what we know comes from the sources listed on each page.
