Coverage grows country by country and stops at no border: a new country enters with its national parks, then the sites inside them, then the routes. The sections below explain how a country page is built, where to start in the countries with the most pages, and how the French, Spanish and German versions follow.

How the travel destinations are built, country by country
- A country opens with its national parks and major reserves, rules and seasons read at the park authority.
- The natural sites inside and around them follow, grouped by type and linked to their parent park: a waterfall names the park it belongs to, a park lists its lakes and gorges.
- Treks and scenic roads come next, stage by stage, with the huts to book.
- When a country holds enough pages, its regions get their own page, and a type with enough sites gets a country list, such as Caves in France or Cenotes in Mexico.
- French, Spanish and German versions follow as each page is proofread in that language; a country appears in a language once it has a page to show in it.
What a country page contains
Every destination page follows the same order, so that a country you know nothing about reads like one you do.
The count at the top
Protected areas, natural sites and hikes published for that country, updated with every page.
Regions
A card for each region with pages, from Alberta to the Yucatán, with the places it holds.
Parks and reserves
Each card with the one fact that sets the park apart.
Sites by type
Caves, waterfalls, lakes, volcanoes, each group linking to its country list when one exists.
Hikes and trails
, with distance, days and season on the card.
The map
Of every place in the country, then the text and the questions below it.
Where to start in the countries with the most pages
Three pages to open first in six countries, chosen for what sets each country apart.
| Country | Three pages to open first |
|---|---|
| France | Écrins, 150 summits above 9,843 ft; the Verdon Gorge, walls up to 2,297 ft; the Tour du Mont Blanc, 106 mi around the massif |
Beyond Europe, and what comes next
Europe came first, with the places that travel beyond their borders; the pages outside it already run from Argentina and Chile to South Africa, Nepal, Peru, Japan, Indonesia, China, Canada, New Zealand, Mexico and Zambia. The aim is every national park and protected area on the planet, with the natural sites inside them and the routes that cross them; new countries enter in the order above, parks first. Last check across the site: October 28, 2026.
To start from a landscape instead of a country, parks, natural wonders and hikes list every page across all countries, and the map starts from where you want to go.
Frequently asked questions
Which countries does the site cover?
11 countries today, each with its page above: most of Europe, from Iceland to Greece, plus Argentina, Chile, Mexico, South Africa, Zambia, Nepal, China, Japan, Indonesia, Peru, Canada and New Zealand. Coverage grows country by country, parks first, towards every protected area on the planet.
What does a destination page show?
The regions of the country with pages, its parks and reserves, its natural sites grouped by type, its treks and scenic roads, and a map of every place, with the count of published pages at the top. Each card carries the one fact that sets the place apart, and each page behind it gives rules, prices and seasons read at the source.
How does a new country join the site?
With its first page. A country opens with its national parks and major reserves, rules and seasons read at the park authority; the natural sites inside them follow, grouped by type, then the routes. Regions get their own page once the country holds enough places, and a type with enough sites gets a country list, such as Caves in France.
Are the destination pages available in French, Spanish and German?
Yes, as soon as a country has a page to show in that language. Pages are written in English and proofread in French, Spanish and German; distances switch between metric and imperial, and prices convert into pounds or dollars at a dated European Central Bank rate.
Can I see all the caves or lakes of one country?
Yes. When a country has enough sites of one type, a country list exists, such as Caves in France or Cenotes in Mexico, reached from the country page. Otherwise, the type hub lists every site of that kind across all countries, with a filter by country.
